Woven in the Tradition of Banaras

A saree that blends the softness of Banarasi crepe with the drama of a bold geometric weave and the artistry of hand painting — this piece is a testament to the versatility of Varanasi’s master weavers and artisans. The fluid drape of crepe silk meets the precision of handwoven zari and the freedom of the painter’s brush, creating a saree that is as comfortable to wear as it is striking to behold.

The Hand Brush Paint

What makes this saree truly one-of-a-kind is its hand brush painting — applied by skilled artisans directly onto the crepe silk before or after weaving, using traditional fabric dyes and brushwork techniques.

  • Each saree is individually hand-painted — no two pieces are ever identical
  • The brushwork creates soft, flowing gradients and colour transitions that cannot be replicated by machine printing
  • The paint is applied with deliberate strokes, giving the fabric an organic, artistic quality
  • A rare combination of the weaver’s craft and the painter’s hand — two distinct art forms on a single textile

The Chevron Zari Weave

The body of this saree features a striking chevron (leheriya-inspired) zari pattern — bold, angular zigzag lines woven in gold zari across the full length of the fabric.

  • The chevron motif is woven directly into the crepe silk — not printed or embroidered
  • Gold zari threads create a luminous, textured surface that catches light with every movement
  • The geometric pattern gives the saree a contemporary edge while remaining rooted in Banarasi weaving tradition
  • The all-over weave creates a rich, festive presence without the weight of a heavier silk

The Meenakari Booti

Complementing the bold body weave, the border carries delicate meenakari bootis — small floral motifs worked in coloured thread using the traditional meenakari technique.

  • Each booti features fine multi-colour detailing, characteristic of authentic Banarasi meenakari work
  • The floral motifs are woven with precision, adding a jewel-like quality to the border
  • Meenakari is one of the most labour-intensive elements of Banarasi weaving — a mark of true craftsmanship

The Fabric

  • Pure Banarasi crepe silk — lightweight, fluid, and naturally crease-resistant
  • Soft matte finish with a subtle texture, distinct from heavier Banarasi silks
  • Drapes beautifully and is comfortable for extended wear
  • Ideal for those who prefer a lighter saree with the richness of Banarasi weaving

Styling & Occasion

Perfect for festive occasions, weddings, and celebrations. The hand-painted body, geometric zari weave, and meenakari border together create a saree that stands apart. Style with gold or polki jewellery and a solid or complementary blouse to let the artistry speak.

Pure Banarasi luxury — where the painter’s brush meets the weaver’s loom.

Care & Maintenance

To preserve the beauty and longevity of your pure Banarasi silk saree, wrap it in breathable muslin or cotton cloth — never plastic. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and refold every 3–6 months to prevent permanent creases.

Avoid contact with perfume, deodorant, or harsh detergents. Dry clean only. To protect the delicate zari work, never iron directly on it.

For storage, place silica gel packets or neem leaves alongside the saree to guard against moisture and insects.
