Pure Banarasi Luxury Mashru Katan Silk Saree with Silver Zari Weaving
Product Details
Woven in the Tradition of Banaras
A saree that speaks the language of heritage — the Banarasi Mashru silk is one of the most storied weaves to emerge from the looms of Varanasi. Its satin-woven silk exterior meets a soft cotton inner layer, creating a fabric that drapes with effortless grace while remaining breathable against the skin.
The Silver Zari Weaving
What sets this saree apart is its silver zari weaving — fine metallic thread interlaced directly into the Mashru silk during the weaving process, not added after. This is the hallmark of true Banarasi craftsmanship.
- Pure silver zari woven into the fabric by hand on traditional pit looms
- The zari catches and reflects light with a cool, luminous shimmer distinct from gold
- Woven motifs — whether stripes, buttas, or border patterns — are precise and even, a mark of master-weaver skill
- The silver weaving adds richness without heaviness, keeping the saree light and wearable
The Fabric
- Pure Mashru silk — silk on the face, cotton on the reverse
- Smooth, lustrous drape with a natural sheen
- Lightweight and breathable, suited for long wear
- Skin-friendly inner layer — a traditional feature of Mashru weaving
The Weave
- Handwoven on pit looms by master weavers of Varanasi
- Each saree takes days to complete — no shortcuts, no shortcuts in craft
- No two pieces are identical; minor variations are a mark of authenticity
Styling & Occasion
Ideal for weddings, festive celebrations, and formal occasions. The silver zari pairs beautifully with both antique and contemporary jewellery. Style with a contrast or tone-on-tone blouse to let the weave speak.
Pure Banarasi luxury — made to be worn, remembered, and passed down.
Care & Maintenance
To preserve the beauty and longevity of your pure Banarasi silk saree, wrap it in breathable muslin or cotton cloth — never plastic. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and refold every 3–6 months to prevent permanent creases.
Avoid contact with perfume, deodorant, or harsh detergents. Dry clean only. To protect the delicate zari work, never iron directly on it.
For storage, place silica gel packets or neem leaves alongside the saree to guard against moisture and insects.
